Menu Mensa 2026/27 with a daily card and dish photos
People who open Menu Mensa on their phone usually look for one thing: what’s for lunch today, or on a specific day. For the 2026/27 school year I rebuilt the app starting from there. The main screen is the daily card, with lunch dish by dish, allergens shown with their labels and dinner on the card next to it.
Above the card there is a ribbon of the month’s school days, with the breaks between one week and the next and a mark on the days when the menu varies. You pick a day with a tap and the month from the selector at the top. Every day has its own address, so you can share the menu for a specific date. There are also the month list and a bar at the bottom with Notices and More, where new notices show up in the count of those still unread.
I added illustrative photos to the dishes: a thumbnail in the daily card and a large photo in the detail view, where you swipe sideways from one dish of the day to the next. The week and day arrows carry on from one season to the next, so the menu can be browsed in sequence all year round.
